Anyone who ever conversed with Oliver knows what he was made of - he was attentive, looked you in the eyes and never missed a word or nuance. He was a barrel of laughs yet was appropriately pensive and contemplative and he never forgot that character and honesty was the hallmark of a relationship. We are very sad for the loss of his life from your family.

Loved this man for his positive spirit. How he loved his family and enjoyed life. I only met him a few times when I visited and then we had interesting discussions. You are lucky as a family to have had him so many years with you. He will live on in your thoughts your stories about him. I light a candle.
See you soon.

Many miles will keep us from coming back to Iowa for the Celebration of Life Service for Oliver. Oliver and Mildred's friendship to the Lawless family began many, many years ago.
What fond memories I still have of them dropping in to visit my folks at the stone house. Always a lot of laughter.
Sending our love and sympathy to his entire family who must feel like their family "King" has left them to march on alone.
Hugs to all.

To all of the Westpfahl family, you have our sympathy in the loss of Oliver. So many of you have expressed how special he was to you and all of the family. He was blessed to have all of you to love and care for him. From all the good things that I have heard about Oliver, I believe he was greeted in heaven with the words "well done good and faithful servant". Our prayers are with you as you celebrate his new life in Christ.
